Community-level evidence for SARS-CoV-2 vaccine protection of unvaccinated individuals

چکیده
Mass vaccination has the potential to curb current COVID-19 pandemic by protecting individuals who have been vaccinated against disease and possibly lowering likelihood of transmission not vaccinated. The high effectiveness widely administered BNT162b vaccine from Pfizer–BioNTech in preventing only but also infection with SARS-CoV-2 suggests a for population-level effect, which is critical eradication. However, this putative effect difficult observe, especially light highly fluctuating spatiotemporal epidemic dynamics. Here, analyzing records test results collected during rapid rollout large population 177 geographically defined communities, we find that rates each community are associated substantial later decline infections among cohort aged under 16 years, unvaccinated. On average, 20 percentage points given population, positive fraction unvaccinated decreased approximately twofold. These provide observational evidence protects provides cross-protection community. New data healthcare organization Israel reveal reduction new an communities rollouts, suggesting mass strategies confer individuals.

In silico design a multivalent epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations
Background: Due to high genetic variation in human leukocyte antigen )HLA( alleles, epitope-based vaccines don’t show equal efficacy in different human populations. therefore, we proposed a multi-epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, the proteins without allergenicity and high antigenicity as well as conservancy level from SARS-CoV...
متن کاملAssessment of protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection by measuring antibody titer, yes or no!
Dear Editor The current epidemic of the novel Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) risen from Wuhan, China, turned into a worldwide concern because of its incubation period (2-14 days) and its high transmission rate. The first cases of the infection were reported in December 2019 in Wuhan with symptoms like pneumonia for an unknown reason. Very soon it was known as a novel kind of Coronavirus o...
متن کاملDesign of a Multi-epitope Peptide Vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 based on Immunoinformatics Data
Background and purpose: In 2019, the world has witnessed the emergence of a virus that caused acute respiratory distress syndrome in human with high mortality rates (approximately 3.7%). So far, no effective treatment has been proven against COVID-19. This study aimed at designing a multi-epitope vaccine combining several T-cell and B-cell epitopes of the SARS-CoV-2. Materials and methods: Bas...
متن کاملSerology Testing for SARS-CoV-2: Benefits and Challenges
As COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) in March 2020, it is an emerging need to discuss different aspects of this pandemic. In any pandemic, valid and rapid laboratory diagnostic tests are critically important for early diagnosis, which will increase the rate of successful treatment and more importantly prevent the spread of the disease.

Background: The clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection was initially dominated by respiratory symptoms. However the clinical spectrum is wide and neuropsychiatric syndromes are also a source of medical concern. Our aims are to present an atypical clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection characterized by auditory hallucinations and unusual behavior and to emphasize the diversity of ...
